From a buzzword and infrequent press release, social determinants of health have rocketed to the top of mind for healthcare leaders over the past year. Community engagement, community relationships, environmental concerns, even simple neighborhood geography are all parts of social determinants of health that have to be addressed by caregivers as they work with patients and their families during the pandemic.
