Amy Windover, Ph.D. is a Clinical Health Psychologist and Director of the Center for Excellence in Healthcare Communication at The Cleveland Clinic. In this role, she oversees the healthcare communication and service excellence training of all caregivers across the Cleveland Clinic enterprise. She is author of the R.E.D.E. model and part of the team that designed the R.E.D.E. to Communicate series of experiential communication skills courses to improve patient experience, clinical health outcomes and clinician experience. She has developed an intensive, relationship-centered Train-the-Trainer program to promote communication and professional development for Cleveland Clinic clinicians. Dr. Windover is an associate professor of medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University where she served as director of communication skills training for over 10 years. She has co-edited a text on relationship-centered communication for medical students, authored chapters and papers on the subject, and presented experiential and research-focused presentations on this topic. Dr. Windover's primary research interests focus on relationship-centered communication and patient/provider experience.
