Amy Szabo, BSN, RN, BSEd, Paramedic, and Case Weatherhead School of Management MBA Candidate May 2019. Amy is the program manager for the Cleveland Clinic Our Voice: Healthcare Partner program and Human Centered Design program. Amy's professional interests include elevating patient and family advisory councils to adhere to collaboration, transparency, and co-design to transform healthcare delivery at Cleveland Clinic. Her recent work has focused on the development and implementation of the Healthcare Partner program at Cleveland Clinic, across the enterprise, as well as to equip council facilitators with the best skillsets to elicit the co-design, transparency and human centered approach to patient experience initiatives. She is an expert in continuous improvement, lean six sigma. Amy received her Bachelor of Nursing degree from Ohio University, her Bachelor of Science in Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. She was one of two full time firefighter paramedics for the City of Mentor Fire Department and was appointed by Ohio Governor Strickland, while in office, to represent union firefighters on the EMS Advisory Board. She has served Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital as Patient Experience Manager and Lake Health System as Nurse Manager, and Continuous Improvement Facilitator for the Critical Care and Medical Surgical Value Streams. Amy has presented an accepted abstract at the Ohio Hospital Association Summit, regarding Purposeful Hourly Rounding and an innovative education roll out.
