Patient Engagement Trends: Behavioral Economics

April 8, 2021
11:52am - 12:07pm

What are behavioral economics and how do they apply to healthcare? Roman Sheremeta, associate professor of economics at Case Western University, will discuss this theory and how in healthcare it can make a big impact on how care is delivered, how patients experience that care and the various tools that can be brought to bear. EHRs, laptops, electronic records, IoT, remote patient monitoring and, as we saw during the pandemic, telehealth still has a role in healthcare. How do these technologies change behaviors of patients AND caregivers. It's a fascinating topic and something that will be with us for years to come.
