A Cleveland Clinic & HIMSS Event. Find out more
Jeff Zika is a registered nurse, educator, and certified healthcare accreditation professional. He has been with Cleveland Clinic since 1996, and in his current role manages regulatory education and the principal compliance & safety rounding program - Continual Readiness Rounds. Since 2017, Jeff has been a development partner with Verge Health, and is a system administrator for VergeCompliance Rounding, part of the Converge platform used across the health system.
Following a life-threatening injury in 2012, Jeff began a journey of recovery and healing that was dependent on the very systems, environments, and people affected by the rounding and education programs he manages. His insight, outlook, and unique perspective have given him a compelling first-hand account on the importance of innovation, humor, empathy, and creating a data-driven, patient-centered culture of excellence.
Jeff is a lifelong resident of Cleveland, graduate of Case Western Reserve University, certified Neuro- Emotional Technique provider, husband, dad, and is thankful for every new day he is given.
Rounding data is essential to improving healthcare outcomes, monitoring and sustaining regulatory compliance, and creating meaningful insights about safety, quality, and patient experience. With so much potentially valuable data at stake, how can healthcare organizations standardize processes and expectations to create a data set that is significant for all stakeholders?
Connecting accreditation and safety issues to patient experience builds a true culture of safety; but it must be supported by reliable, consistent, accessible data. Cleveland Clinic, together with Verge Health, is transforming their work on compliance rounding and patient experience by bringing together hundreds of thousands of data points from within the 4,500-bed hospital system.
In this session, Jeff Zika will bring together his personal experiences as a patient and his professional role as an Accreditation Program Manager at Cleveland Clinic to discuss the role that individuals, teams, processes, technology, culture, and integrated data play in compliance, safety, and patient experience.
