He graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine, and his emergency medicine training was at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mish. His most recent (and challenging) endeavor has been as Emergency Medical Director of Memorial Hospital in Owosso, Mich
He is a proud Grand Rapidian where he resides with his wife, Rachel, and 3 boys (7, 6, and 2). In his spare time he enjoys craft coffee, being the "effort guy" in pickup basketball games at the local YMCA, hanging out with his family, and wasting too much time on fantasy football.
Session attendees will learn how a 24-bed, level 3 trauma center in Michigan implemented key strategies to overcome barriers and implement positive change within the emergency department. The session's presenters will provide an overview of how management commitment, from the hospital C-suite to the ED medical director, must be in place to hold all accountable for an optimized patient experience. Outcomes achieved: Increased patient experience scores, increased employee engagement, reduced LWOBS, reduced wait times.
