Elliott Wortham is a healthcare strategist based in Cleveland, Ohio. Elliott is from Richmond, Virginia, and received his undergraduate degree in Sociology from Virginia Tech. He then went on to obtain his Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) from the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health, where he completed internships with the Mayo Clinic’s Center for Innovation and United Health Group. After graduating, Elliott worked as an Assistant Administrator in Cleveland Clinic’s Chief of Staff Office responsible for managing enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and organizational design projects. He is currently the Director of Strategy and Service Design for Digestive Disease and Surgery Institute and Head and Neck Institute where his efforts focus on strategy, service design, and business development.
Healthcare is being disrupted by new technology and service models placing a need for us to consider the future implications of our work. Speculative design is an emerging practice used to help industry plan for the future. This session, facilitated by Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic, will introduce its role in helping healthcare organizations shape the present through creating products and services of the future. Participants will learn methods they can use to help their teams take responsibility for the future.
