A Cleveland Clinic & HIMSS Event. Find out more
Beth Meese, RN, is an Executive Director of Clinical Technology at the Cleveland Clinic. She also happens to be a mother of two girls, a wife, a pediatric nurse, a marathon runner, an author, and a student - she's pretty busy. As a nurse Beth understands and recognizes the impact that devices are having on the growth and development of children. As a mother and wife, Beth knows the importance of family time and how easy it is to find distractions and miss out on the good stuff. As a busy professional, Beth knows that finding this balance is tricky. It is her hope to share her ideals of focused family time with others through the simple book about a pesky phone.
To better support the needs of clinicians and meet the demands of a rapidly changing healthcare technology landscape, the Cleveland Clinic recognized the need to transform the way its technology division worked and delivered services. To this end, it greatly improved team dynamics by leveraging unique practices such as having teams create social contracts, participate in retrospectives every two weeks, and plan their work and deliverables collectively as a group.
This session will explain how such collaborations and cohesion on teams has not only improved employee satisfaction, but also created empowered teams where everyone feels a sense of shared accountability and supports each other in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
